The index for Legs is based on the scores for "legs" evaluated at the three year old test and quality test.

The index for Trot is based on the score for "trot in hand" at the three year old test and "trot under rider" evaluated at the quality test. It is also influenced by the other scores in gaits, the score for Riding horse type and the competition results in dressage due to the genetical relationships that exist between these traits.

The index for Temperament in gaits is based on the score for "temperament and overall impression" at the quality test. It is also influenced by the other scores in gaits, the score for Riding horse type and the competition results in dressage due to the genetical relationships that exist between these traits.

The index for Temperament in jumping is based on the score for "temperament and overall impression" at the three year old and quality test. It is also influenced by the other scores in jumping as well as competition results in jumping due to the relationships that exist between these traits.

The index for jumping is is based on competition results in jumping on a regional,-national-and elite level. It is also influenced by the jumping scores from the three year old test and the quality test due to the genetical relationships that exist between these traits.

Standard error of index indicates the reliability of an index. There is a standard deviation for the jumping index and the dressage index (where competition results are part of the calculated index) and for jumping and dressage traits evaluated at the young horse tests.
